KP Human Development Foundation was awarded the prestigious “Mahatma Award India 2024 “ for Social Good and Impact. Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairperson of KP Human Development Foundation, received the award from Dr. Kiran Bedi, First Lady IPS Officer and Former Lt. Governor of Puducherry, and Mr. Amit Sachdeva, Gandhian, Constitutional Lawyer, popularly known as The CSR Man of India.
This award is a milestone in the form of recognition of the vision of Dr. Faruk G. Patel who is working tirelessly to uplift the underprivileged of the society. His firm belief in giving back to society today backed by the Mahatma Award will further motivate him to benefit the masses.
Honourable CM Shri. Bhupendrabhai Patel and Dr. Faruk G. Patel Founder, Chairman & MD - KP Group laid the foundation stone of World's first old-age home for the physically challenged at Uchediya village of Jhagadia taluka in Bharuch on 19th Feb, 2023.
The old-age home Costs Rs 22-25 crore and this expense will be bourne by KP Human Development Foundation, CM said, it will be the 'first in the country' and is being set up by the Disable Welfare Trust of India run by Surat-based Padmashri awardee Dr. Kanubhai Tailor.
The old-age home to be called 'Prabhu nu ghar' coming up on the banks of the Narmada, will have amenities to accommodate 200 inmates. Dr. Faruk G. Patel also shared his thoughts on the occasion and assured of more such assistance in the future.
